Dear Business Owner/ Resident of Rush
It’s that time of year when the Christmas Lights Committee is gearing up for another great event to light our town for Christmas.
Your valued contribution to our cause last year enabled us to light up the Christmas tree and the town and also to host an evening of fun and laughter with Santa for every member of our Community. We were also able to light the Christmas tree in the church and purchased a new supply of lights for the trees on the Milbank. We hope to raise enough funds this year to connect these lights.
In 2015 the cost to connect and maintain these lights (for 6 weeks) was €6,000.
€2160.92 was donated by local business
€1219.00 was donated from collection boxes throughout the town,
€1000.00 was raised from the Wine tasting evening.
The remainder was made up from the float left over from 2014
To host an even better event again this year, we are once again asking for your help in sponsoring a tree crown or crowns @ €100 each. Without your support it will not be possible to bring the magic of Christmas to Rush again in 2016.
As a sponsor of our lights appeal, we will acknowledge your sponsorship in Rush Community News and on Rush Community Council website and Facebook page, and residents will be encouraged to support your business.
The feedback from the Community of Rush following last year’s event was incredible. Everyone had an amazing time and the event was attended by in excess of 1,000 people and thanks to you, all children received a small gift from Santa. The town’s people voiced the hope that we would continue to host this annual event!
We also wish to thank those who provided storage for the crowns and lights during 2015.
