Design works and surveying for the National Broadband Plan begin in Rush

As part of the rollout of the Ireland’s National Broadband Plan (NBP), surveying and design works will be commencing in Fingal from Monday, 8 November 2021. Rush is the first town in which these works will begin.

National Broadband Ireland (NBI) are undertaking the fibre-network rollout to enable high-speed internet connectivity for 544,000 premises across the country.

The company has said it would like the public to be aware that contractors will be in the Rush from this week, both inspecting and recording pictures of infrastructure such as poles, cables and underground ducts.

All NBI teams will have vehicles and signage with both their own and NBI logos, and well as official ID cards and essential worker letters. The contractors have been fully trained in physical-distancing practices, hygiene, appropriate use of personal protective equipment (including hard hats and high-visibility vests with the NBI logo) and how to engage with the public in a safe manner if and when required.

Any queries on NBI’s survey and design works in Rush can be handled by the company’s customer call centre (0818 624 624) or by email (
