Are you interested in helping Rush to develop? Have you some ideas on how the RCC could do more, and how you could help?
Rush Community Council is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to represent the people and the town of Rush. The Community Council also has several sub committees, made up of a small/large number of people, who work on different projects for the town of Rush such as:
- Rush Tidy Towns
- Ros Eo Community Preschool
- Arts Heritage & Tourism
- Christmas Lights
- Text Alert
- Rogerstown Park Development Group
- Town Centre Committee
- Rush Development Committee
- Coastal Erosion Committee
- Bus Connects
- Urbact Playful Towns
As Rush continues to develop, more committees are needed to tackle the growing demands of our town. The volunteer work revolves around finances, governance, insurance, policy making, committee development and support, online presence, and social media communications.
The board of up to 20 Directors (currently 9 vacancies) is the governing body and is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s activities. Some of our Directors are also members of the sub committees and form an essential link between the board and the sub committees. The Directors also take on additional tasks and manage issues and projects from time to time.
Rush Community Council meetings currently take place online once a month, from September to July from 8-10 p.m. every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Between meetings, communications between Directors are done mainly via e-mail.
If you would like to join Rush Community Council or any of its sub committees, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact Debbie (Centre Manager) by email; email@example.com for further information.
If you feel there is an area not represented in our town and are willing to give some of your time, please contact Rush Community Council.
