Local Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Dr. James Reilly has said that he is delighted with the advancements of the Rush Playground Project. At present, the plans and drawings for the proposed project are on display for six weeks, with an additional two weeks to allow members of the public the opportunity to make submissions.
He told the County Leader, “Many members of the community, including the Rush Playground Group have campaigned tirelessly for this development. With over seven hundred children in primary schools in the greater Rush area, amenities such as this are essential. The group have also confirmed that the proposed project would cater for children with special needs. As Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, I am very conscious of the importance of outdoor play facilities for the health and well-being of children and families.”
“The Rush Playground Group is currently commencing their fundraising drive and I would like to encourage everyone in the Rush Community to do what they can to help. I would like to congratulate all of those involved on their exceptional hard work,” he concluded.
